Pheasant Field
Each guest room at our historic Bed and Breakfast is tastefully decorated with an eye toward comfort, convenience and relaxation. We love our furry friends, though the main farmhouse is pet-free, for the comfort of all guests. Our three pet-friendly rooms have convenient exterior access.
Our warm, inviting sitting room, spacious back patio and cozy covered front porch give you and your traveling companions plenty of space to spread out and enjoy each others’ company in any season.
Lady Amherst’s Library Suite
This first-floor two-room suite is perfect for that romantic getaway. The large bedroom has a king-size bed, antique armoire, and a wall of bookshelves stocked with reading to suit a variety of interests. The skylight in the private ensuite bath provides brilliant lighting, where guests are treated to a Jacuzzi spa tub and a separate shower. The adjoining private sitting room is bright with three long northeast facing windows giving views of the pond. Relax in the cozy loveseat and wingback chair indulging in a real fire in the fireplace. Enjoy an evening game or puzzle at the antique dining table with two comfortable occasional chairs, perfect for a private breakfast. The suite is named for the Lady Amherst Pheasant. 400sqft. Pheasant Dreams
This second-floor room is a stately room with an inviting queen-size four-post bed with soft Comphy sheets and a fluffy duvet. The dresser and desk invite the business traveler to unpack and work remotely while enjoying the south-facing view of our historic barn and sprawling pastures. A soft chair offers a comfortable rest after a day visiting Dickinson college or touring the Carlisle area. The private ensuite bath is brightly lit with a stunning tile and glass shower. 200sqft. General Miller’s Retreat
This bright and cheerful second-floor room has both a king-size bed and a daybed! Guests have plenty of room to stretch out to watch a movie or relax and take in the view of our surrounding property. The private ensuite bath includes a large dressing area with a double sink vanity and closet, and a separate room with the toilet and a tub/shower combo. The perfect room for a couple to invite their Dickinson College student to join them for a night away! Three long beautiful windows face east and north to provide views of the pond and surrounding gardens. The General Miller Suite is named after John Miller, recorded as the builder of our farmhouse. 300sqft. Pricing is double/single occupancy. Max 3 people.

Appalachian Hideaway
This second-floor queen room invites guests to snuggle into the luxurious sheets under the fluffy duvet after a day of hiking the Appalachian Trail or perusing the shops in downtown Carlisle. Delight in a hot shower with our lovely aromatherapy products in your private ensuite bath. The beautiful east-facing windows allow you to watch the sunrise beyond our pond in the distance while lounging in bed with your first cup of coffee. The Cottage
The perfect lodging choice for a couple or small family preferring more privacy. Separate from the main house, the Cottage is conveniently located only a few steps from our sunny patio. It has a cozy living room with a large TV and gas fireplace. The efficiency kitchen is outfitted with a microwave, bar-sink, under-counter refrigerator, and a breakfast bar with stools. There is a full bath with a shower, and a spacious separate bedroom with a king-size bed that opens onto a private patio in the back. Cots or a portable twin bed are available for an additional fee. Pet owners will find a pet bed, towels and bowls to pamper your furry family members (2 pet maximum). 450sqft. Pricing is double/single occupancy. Max 3 adults or 2 adults with 2 children.

This exterior-access room has just three steps to the small private porch entrance. Located on the northwest end of the house, it offers easy access to the side yard and views of flower gardens and sunsets. The small bistro table and chairs invites you to enjoy your evening beverage or take-out delivery order at your leisure before retiring into the luxurious softness of the king-size bed. Pop a bag of complimentary popcorn in the microwave at your wet-bar, and keep your beverages chilled in the small refrigerator. The private ensuite bath has a step-in shower and an antique vanity sink. Pet owners will find a pet bed, towels and bowls to pamper your furry family members (2 pet maximum). 300sqft. This exterior-access ground-level room boasts a private covered porch with rocking chairs overlooking our lovely historic stone barn and our patio with flower and herb gardens. The queen-size bed features luxury sheets and a fluffy duvet. Relax and enjoy a good book or the game on TV from the comfortable armchair. Country Comfort has 36-inch doorways, a large private bath with an ADA-approved toilet, convenient handrails, and a large low-entry shower. Pop a bag of complimentary popcorn in the microwave at your wet-bar, and keep your beverages chilled in the small refrigerator.
